Making Money From Blogging

Can you really make money with a simple blog? The answer is a definite yes. But before you go running off to create your first money making blog, read this article first. Because it's more likely that you are NOT going to make money with blogging. Let's find out why.

There are many reasons why a blog would fail. But the primary reason, is that bloggers lack a solid business plan. Yes, you can make money with blogging (lots of it in fact, if you do it right), but you DO need a realistic and sound business plan to back you up.

Here is a blogging strategy that has been proven NOT to work very well. Setup a blog with a free theme, post some mediocre content that can be found everywhere on the Internet, and hope that web visitors come to your blog and HOPEFULLY, they click on some ads and then you make some money.

If you have already started your very first blog, you know that web visitors don't come to your blog by chance. You have to play your part to promote your own blog(s). What does that mean?

That means you have to spend time learning about SEO (search engine optimization), and how to generate useful content for your web visitors.

Here is some good news. When it comes to traffic generation for your blog, SEO is only one traffic generation method. There are many others - for example, you can buy traffic, participate in forums and get forum traffic, exchange links with other authority sites, etc. The key is to pick one traffic strategy and MASTER it before moving on to others. May I remind you that if you are just starting out, it's not going to be easy. You have to be patient and build your traffic generation foundation before moving on...

The next thing you have to figure out is to learn how to generate original and useful content for your blog readers. Some bloggers are very good with SEO, but they can't seem to generate good and interesting content.

Being able to write well requires talent. But obviously, writing talent alone is not enough. You have to also learn how to add value by making your content useful and interesting. That requires practice.

Already, many bloggers are overwhelmed with information by the time they come to this stage. But if you are patient and persistent enough, and you continue to work in a dedicated manner on your blog, the day when you earn thousands will eventually arrive (without doubt).
